Ukraine already spends UAH 2.6 bln to fight COVID-19

Ukraine has already spent more than UAH 2.6 billion in budget funds to prevent the spread of coronavirus, according to the press service of the Finance Ministry.

"The Finance Ministry continues to monitor budget expenditures for the purchase of goods and services necessary to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). According to the State Treasury Service, as of May 28, 2020, payments for UAH 2.62 billion from budgets of all levels were made, including UAH 658 million from the state budget and UAH 1,965 million from local budgets," the report says.

In total, the State Treasury Service registered budget commitments for all purchases to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the amount of more than UAH 3.4 billion (UAH 934 million from the state budget, UAH 2,484 million from local budgets).

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers established a special fund to tackle the COVID-19 during the quarantine period and 30 days after its cancelation. The total sum of the fund is UAH 65 billion.
