Deposits of individuals in Deposit Guarantee Fund’s banks total UAH 524 bln

"As of May 1, 2020, the total amount of deposits of individuals (including individual entrepreneurs) amounted to UAH 524.33 billion,” reads the report.

As of April 1, 2020, deposits of individuals in banks amounted to UAH 520.24 billion. At the beginning of May 2020, out of the total deposits of individuals, hryvnia deposits made up UAH 302.47 billion, deposits in foreign currency - UAH 221.86 billion.

The Deposit Guarantee Fund reminded that refunds on deposits in foreign currency are converted into the national currency at the official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Ukraine on the day when the procedure for withdrawal of a bank from the market was initiated.

Some 98.2% of the depositors have fully protected deposits (from UAH 10 to UAH 200,000), which are subject to guarantees of the Fund. Some 41.9% of the deposits are fully covered by guarantees of the Fund, which makes up UAH 219.44 billion.
