Government introducing support programs for SMEs, export-oriented industries

"We are helping micro-, small and medium-sized businesses, which have been affected the most by the crisis. Affordable loans’ programs are operating in this direction. We want all entrepreneurs to have access to cheap credit at virtually 0%. The second direction is partial payment of wages at those enterprises where employees have had reduced working hours,” Shmyhal said during an hour of questions to the government held in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to the prime minister, almost UAH 5 billion has been allocated to support employees. Ukraine has adopted the experience of western countries by implementing this program.

Shmyhal noted that there would also be programs to support industry and export-oriented industries.

"There will also be the issue of loans and the issue of localization, support for Ukrainian producers. Support for Ukrainian producers is a priority that will be the basis of economic strategy in the coming years. We have several pilot projects that will be the first stage in creating special zones, which will help us attract foreign investments and promote the creation of new capacities in Ukraine,” Shmyhal added.
