Cabinet to appoint new heads of Tax and Customs Services under simplified procedure

"A new head of the Tax Service will be appointed soon, and then [a new head] of the Customs Service. During the quarantine, a temporary simplified procedure for selecting candidates for these positions will operate," Marchenko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, this is the optimal approach in the current situation as these are the agencies with thousands of employees.

"After the quarantine ends, we will conduct a competitive selection with the involvement of experts and the public, as stipulated by the legislation," Marchenko said.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers at its extraordinary meeting on April 24 dismissed Head of the State Tax Service Serhiy Verlanov and Head of the State Customs Service Maksym Nefyodov.
