The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to reduce the discount rate to 8%.

NBU Governor Yakiv Smolii said this at a briefing on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The NBU Board has decided to reduce the discount rate to 8%," he said.

On September 6, 2019, the NBU reduced the discount rate to 16.5%. It was then reduced to 15.5% from October 25, 2019, to 13.5% from December 13, 2019, to 11% from January 31, 2020, and to 10% from March 13, 2020.
