Minister Kryklii: Ports need to optimize their strategic and investment plans due to quarantine

Ukrainian ports need to optimize their strategic and investment plans, as well as to review spending on major construction due to coronavirus quarantine.

"We need to look for additional opportunities to develop the ports during quarantine, to work with freight forwarders and to optimize strategic and investment plans of ports," Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii said during a teleconference meeting with heads of seaports and the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.

According to him, the Government of Ukraine currently considers the issue of revising the allotment of a share of state-owned enterprises' profits to the state budget.

Earlier, Kryklii also instructed the heads of seaports and other state-owned enterprises to review spending on major construction and to update strategic and investment plans of enterprises due to the quarantine caused by the spread of coronavirus.

As reported, the emergency situation was introduced in the entire territory of Ukraine on March 25 and the quarantine was extended until April 24.
