The Government of Ukraine is working to create 500,000 jobs for Ukrainians who lost their jobs because of quarantine.

“In May, we will create 500 thousand jobs so that Ukraine does not find itself on the verge of an even deeper economic crisis. We understand how to do this and what it takes. There is a plan, it is updated daily, and we add new data to this plan,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said on the air of Ukrayina TV channel on Friday evening, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the employment situation in Ukraine is in poor condition now.

"Over the last two weeks, this number [of unemployed people] has increased by almost 50 thousand," the Prime Minister admitted.

He added that think tanks now worked at the Government and the Economic Development Council had been created with the involvement of the most prominent Ukrainian and foreign economists and scientists.
