Ryanair was granted a temporary permit to operate up to 28 weekly flights between cities of Italy and Ukraine.

"The permit is temporary. It was issued on March 3 and will be in effect until July 13, 2020," Avianews.com reports.

Ryanair is allowed operating flights to Kharkiv from Bergamo; to Kyiv from Bergamo, Bologna, Rome, Catania; to Odesa from Rome, Bergamo, Bologna; to Lviv from Rome, Bergamo, Bologna.

Ryanair managed to obtain a permit for operating flights from Italy to Ukraine after the bankruptcy of the Italian low-cost carrier Ernest Airlines.

It is currently unknown whether Ryanair will launch flights before the end of quarantine.

As Ukrinform reported with reference to Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii, all the airports in Ukraine have been temporarily closed except the Boryspil International Airport since March 24. The passengers are also banned from leaving the country by plane for tourism purposes.
