Number of registered unemployed decreases 5.7% in 2019 – State Statistics Service

In 2019, the number of registered unemployed in Ukraine decreased by 5.7%, to about 1.49 million, according to the State Statistics Service.

About 1.49 million Ukrainians of working age (8.6% of the total working age population) were unemployed in 2019, 5.7% less than in 2018. In 2019, 67.6% of working age population (15.89 million people; 1.1% more than in 2018) were employed.

In 2019, enterprises in Ukraine (legal entities or separate divisions of legal entities with the number of employees exceeding ten persons) had 7.44 million full-time employees on average (2.8% less than in 2018).

In 2019, the average monthly salary in Ukraine made up UAH 10,497 (up 18.4% from 2018).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the number of registered unemployed in Ukraine in 2018 made up 1.58 million people (9.1% of the total working age in the country), which is 71% less than in 2017.
