Cabinet updates macroeconomic forecast: Hryvnia exchange rate at UAH 29.5, unemployment at 9.4%

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"The government updated the macroeconomic forecast. At a Cabinet meeting, we approved new figures. During the development of the new forecast, the Economy Ministry consulted with experts of the Finance Ministry, NBU, IMF and independent analytical organizations," Shmyhal wrote.

The prime minister stressed that "we may not be satisfied with all the figures, but we expect the economic situation to improve in the second half of the year."

The infographics on key parameters of the new macroeconomic forecast is the following: nominal GDP is projected at UAH 4 trillion, inflation growth at 2.9%: from 5.6 to 8.7%.

The average annual hryvnia exchange rate against the US dollar is expected at UAH 29.5.

The average monthly salary is projected at UAH 11,000. “Considering the inflation, it will not actually change compared to 2019," according to the infographics.

The unemployment rate is projected at 9.4%, which is 1.3% higher than in the previous forecast.
