E-money market more than doubles in Ukraine

In 2019, the amount of electronic money issued and the number of e-money transactions more than doubled in Ukraine.
"Last year, the electronic money market in Ukraine more than doubled. This is linked with the growing interest of market participants in this payment instrument," the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine posted on Facebook.
Thus, in 2019, the amount of e-money issued increased almost 2.5-fold up to UAH 203 million compared to 2018; the number of e-money transactions increased by more than 2.3-fold up to UAH 16.7 billion.
At the same time, the increase in the number of electronic wallets was not so significant – only 18% up to 74 million.
