Ukraine and Turkey sign protocol on defense cooperation

Representatives of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries of the Republic of Turkey signed an intergovernmental protocol on further steps to implement joint projects in the field of armaments and military equipment.

The 7th meeting of the Ukraine-Turkey Joint Commission on Military and Industrial Cooperation took place at the Defense Ministry of Ukraine today, January 23, the ministry’s press service reported.

The main purpose of the meeting was to agree on prospects and further steps for the implementation of joint projects in the field of armaments and military equipment, within the framework of the development of the Ukrainian-Turkish strategic partnership.

During the meeting, the parties defined priorities for 2020 in order to establish effective cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and Turkey.

The result of the meeting was the signing of the Intergovernmental Protocol, which secures reached agreements.

In addition, during the visit, the Turkish delegation visited the state enterprises Luch and Artem and held negotiations with the leadership of the State Concern Ukroboronprom.
