Ukrainian Finance Ministry raises UAH 6.3 bln from sale of government bonds

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry has raised more than UAH 6.3 billion at an auction on the placement of domestic government bonds, the ministry's press service has reported on Facebook.

"At an auction on January 21, 2020, the Finance Ministry offered investors six-month, one-year and three-year hryvnia-denominated government bonds. UAH 6.315 billion was attracted at the auction to finance the state budget (six-month government bonds - UAH 512 million, one-year government bonds - UAH 1.717 billion, three-year government bonds - UAH 4.086 billion). At the same time, total demand exceeded UAH 12.035 billion," the report reads.

According to the ministry, the average weighted yield on three-year hryvnia-denominated bonds has decreased by 237 basis points, to 10.01%. The yield on six-month securities reached 10.03% (a decrease by 172 bps), and the yield on one-year bonds amounted to 10.04% (a decrease by 14 bps).

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry attracted about UAH 6 billion to the state budget at an auction on January 14, 2020.
