Egg production in Ukraine grows by 3.4% in 2019

Egg production in Ukraine grew by 3.4% in 2019 year-over-year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has reported.

Last year, Ukraine produced 16.68 billion eggs, or 3.4% more than in 2018. In particular, agricultural enterprises produced 9.36 billion eggs (5.2% more than in 2018) and households 7.32 billion eggs (1.2% more than in 2018).

The largest number of eggs in 2019 was produced in the Kyiv region - 3.31 billion eggs (2.1% more than in 2018), the Khmelnytsky region (1.03 billion eggs; down 5.7%), and the Vinnytsia region (925.1 million eggs; up 0.8%).

The smallest egg production in 2019 was recorded in the Luhansk region (72.9 million eggs; 1% more than in 2018), the Odesa region (203.5 million eggs; down 19.2%), and the Volyn region (204.6 million eggs; up 0.8%).

According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine produced 16.14 billion eggs in 2018, or 4.1% more than in 2017.
