Kuleba: Ukraine's participation in Eurimages a sign of quality in European and world film industry
Kuleba wrote this on his Facebook page, commenting on the adoption of a respective law by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on December 19, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Support from Eurimages is a sign of quality in the European and world film industry," Kuleba said.
He said that the task of making Ukraine a member of Eurimages was a priority when he served as Ukraine's ambassador to the Council of Europe for three years. After all, Kuleba said, the issue concerns the world's largest support fund for the co-production and distribution of creative cinematographic and audiovisual works, created and managed by the Council of Europe.
"It works like this: you become a member of Eurimages, you pay a contribution, you get the right to access a multi-million dollar fund, you find an international partner to co-produce a movie, you apply to Eurimages for funding and you can get the money you need to produce and promote your film," the official said.
The Permanent Representation of Ukraine to the Council of Europe told Ukrinform that joining Eurimages is a promising, positive and definitely advantageous step for the development of Ukrainian culture and public diplomacy.
