Ukraine, Belarus expand trade and economic cooperation – Energy Minister Orzhel

Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus have agreed to expand trade and economic cooperation, the Government portal has reported.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Belarusian Mixed Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

“Cooperation with the Republic of Belarus will ensure the development and functioning of stable and competitive sectors of the economy of our states. The implementation of agreements will provide an opportunity to strengthen political, trade, economic and cultural ties between our countries,” said Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel.

The minister has stressed that Belarus and Ukraine are important trading partners.

“The visit of the Belarusian delegation at this level is a real opportunity to continue the dialogue on the practical implementation of current tasks of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest for the people of our states,” said Orzhel.

According to him, the constructive discussions held during expert consultations within the Commission will deepen cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus and lay a solid foundation for fruitful and effective joint work.
