Finance Ministry to begin comprehensive check of tax system in January

Finance Minister Oksana Markarova stated this during Government Question Hour meeting held in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“In the Government's Action Program, the Finance Ministry envisaged a comprehensive tax reform for 2020. In particular, at the beginning of the year we will rather quickly check our tax system. In fact, we have not conducted such a comprehensive audit for a long time,” said Markarova.

According to her, this check will take several months. At the same time, the Government intends to develop proposals for comprehensive tax reform jointly with the relevant parliamentary committee.

The finance minister also noted the need for timely adoption of the reform so that the business can have at least six months to “readjust”.
