State Tax Service reduces number of audits by one third

In August-October 2019, the State Tax Service of Ukraine conducted 2,700 unscheduled audits, compared to 3,800 audits in the relevant period last year. In addition, the State Tax Service carried out 1,100 scheduled audits, compared to 1,300 in August-October 2018.
The State Fiscal Service wrote this on its official Facebook page.
“The number of unscheduled audits over the period of work of the State Fiscal Service in August-October 2019 decreased by one third compared to August-October 2018. Additional charges on the results of audits have almost doubled,” said Chairman of the State Fiscal Service Serhiy Verlanov.
According to him, statistics show that the State Fiscal Service’s course of reducing checks and reducing the pressure on business has already yielded results.
“We have strengthened our analytical work and improved our taxpayer selection system for audits. That is, checks are carried out only when there is every reason to believe that the company is trying to evade taxes,” said Verlanov.
