Moody's improves Ukraine's outlook from stable to positive

Moody's Investors Service has upgraded the outlook on the Government of Ukraine's ratings to positive from stable, with Ukraine's long-term issuer and senior unsecured ratings affirmed at Caa1, the press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture has reported.

Ukraine's rating would be upgraded if the progress made in reducing its sizeable external vulnerability can be sustained, the ministry said.

On September 27, 2019, Standard & Poor's raised its global scale long-term foreign and local currency sovereign ratings on Ukraine to 'B' from 'B-'. The outlook is stable.

According to the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, as of September 30 this year, Ukraine's public and publicly guaranteed debt amounted to $82.95 billion.
