The Czech Republic is interested in developing economic cooperation with Ukraine.

Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš said this during the Ukrainian-Czech Business Forum in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“Ukraine is a very promising territory, which is historically and geographically close to us. Trade between our countries is growing," Babiš said.

In 2018, the share of the Czech Republic exports to the EU reached 78%. “We see the same export opportunity to Ukraine,” the Czech prime minister added.

In his opinion, it would be very good to resume the work of the commission on the further development of relations between Ukraine and the Czech Republic. According to Babiš, the Czech Republic is ready to participate in a number of projects in Ukraine.

During the forum, a number of important documents on cooperation between Ukrainian and Czech companies was signed.

As Ukrinform reported, a large delegation of businessmen led by Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš is on a working visit to Ukraine. The agenda of the visit includes meetings with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and Speaker of the Parliament Dmytro Razumkov.
