NBU: Money transfers within Ukraine rose by over 35% in January-September 2019

"In the first nine months of 2019, about UAH 140 billion, or USD 5.3 billion in equivalent, was transferred within Ukraine through money transfer systems, which is by a third (over 35%) more than in the relevant period of 2018,” reads the report.

Over the reporting period, USD 1,673 million in equivalent has been transferred to Ukraine through money transfer systems (data does not include bank transfer information, card payment systems, and post offices), which is 4% less compared with the relevant period last year. This slight fluctuation is due to seasonal factors. A total of USD 275 million was transferred from Ukraine in January-September 2019.

Since the beginning of 2019, the largest amount of funds through money transfer systems have come from the United States – 18%, Israel - 14%, Italy - 9%, Poland - 7%, the Russian Federation - 7%. The largest amount of funds from Ukraine have been transferred to the Russian Federation - 31%, Georgia - 11%, Azerbaijan - 6%, China - 6%, and Uzbekistan - 5%.

As Ukrinform reported, UAH 93.28 billion, or $3.5 billion, was transferred in Ukraine in the first half of 2019.
