Cabinet plans to invest more than 3 bln in road safety

The draft state budget for 2020 provides for allocation of UAH 3.17 billion for implementation of road safety measures that will help reduce traffic-related death rate in Ukraine.

"We intend to invest in road safety to reduce traffic-related death rate," Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said during the presentation of the draft state budget for 2020 for the second reading, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Road traffic deaths cause "insane damage" to the Ukrainian economy as the country loses a lot of people, the Prime Minister added.

The draft state budget for 2020 provides for allocation of UAH 3.17 billion for road safety measures, twice as large as the sum foreseen for this year.
