The International Monetary Fund mission will return to Kyiv in the coming weeks to discuss details of cooperation.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk announced this on Facebook.

“Good news from the US! The Ukrainian delegation has made positive progress in negotiations with our international partners.

Several statements of Director of the IMF’s European Department Poul Thomsen on Ukraine:

- Previous two programs were quite successful

- Ukraine has made significant progress in achieving macro stability

- Economic growth is good enough, but we need to grow more

Talks with the IMF are in active phase!

The mission will come back to Kyiv in the coming weeks for further discussion of all the details of cooperation!” The Prime Minister wrote.

He also thanked fellow ministers for "difficult and effective negotiations."

As reported, Director of the IMF’s European Department Poul Thomsen said that new IMF’s Extended Financing Program (EFF) program with Ukraine was scheduled for three years and would focus on maintaining macroeconomic stability and introducing deep structural reforms.

The International Monetary Fund mission led by Ron van Rooden visited Kyiv on September 12-26, 2019 and started to discuss a new three-year Extended Financing Program with Ukraine.
