“We are in the process of consultations. I think they will be active with all parties. We have reached the point that at the end of October we will hold the next consultations with the participation of the European side in the framework of signing the gas transportation agreement," Orzhel said at a press conference on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At the same time, according to him, Ukraine continues to increase gas reserves in case of transit termination. "At present, the gas volumes in Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities amount to 19.6 billion cubic meters. By the beginning of the heating season we will have 21 billion cubic meters of gas," Orzhel said.
Earlier, Minister Orzhel announced that the Ukrainian side agreed with the European Commission’s proposal to conclude a ten-year contract on ensuring the transit of 60 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
The 3d round of the EU-Ukraine-Russia talks on Russian gas transit to the European market through the territory of Ukraine was held in Brussels on Thursday, September 19.
