Ukraine increases gas injection volumes by one third since beginning of year — Ukrtransgaz

Ukraine for eight months of 2019 pumped 9.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas into underground gas storage facilities, which is 33% more than in the same period last year, according to the company’s press service.

"In January-August 2019, Ukraine pumped 9.6 billion cubic meters of gas into its underground gas storage facilities, an increase of 33% compared to the same period in 2018. The extraction from underground storages was 5.1 billion cubic meters of gas, a decrease of 29%," the report says.

As of September 1, 2019, Ukraine accumulated 18.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas in its underground gas storage facilities, which is 25 % more than during the same period in 2018.

The company reminded that Ukraine had not imported gas for its needs from Russia for four years in a row. During this period, gas volumes came exclusively from the EU countries.

As reported, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to accumulate about 20 billion cubic meters of gas to ensure the stable heating season of 2019-2020.
