Sefcovic held phone talk with new Ukraine’s energy minister

In a post on Twitter, Sefcovic wrote: “Had a productive discussion with new Ukraine’s Energy Minister Oleksiy Orzhel. It's good to have a partner with such an excellent track record in the field of energy and the energy transition, given the tasks ahead, including unbundling and Trilateral Gas Talks”.

The Ukrainian minister has not yet commented on the results of the talk with Maros Sefcovic.

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is due to complete the process of unbundling the state-owned company by the end of 2019 in line with the model determined in July 2016 and based on Ukraine’s obligations to the European Energy Community.

As Ukrinform reported, the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation on August 29 approved the candidacy of Oleksiy Orzhel for the post of energy and environmental protection minister.
