The mission of the International Monetary Fund is expected to visit Ukraine between September 10 and 24 this year.

"In a few weeks, the IMF mission will arrive in Kyiv. We will discuss a new cooperation program with Ukraine designed for 3-4 years," Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said in an interview with a number of media outlets, the Radio Liberty reports.

Speaking about the gas price for the population, which has long been a controversial issue in relations between the previous Cabinet of Ministers and the IMF, Honcharuk said that the Government should not interfere with administrative decisions in pricing, even on energy sources.

According to the National Bank's baseline forecast for a new IMF cooperation program, Ukraine may receive two billion dollars from the IMF this year, two billion in 2020 and two billion more in 2021. The scope of the current program is $3.9 billion.

On December 21, 2018, Ukraine received the first and so far the only disbursement under the IMF cooperation program to the tune of about $1.4 billion.

The last visit of the IMF mission to Ukraine was made in May 2019.
