Ukrainian farmers harvest grain and leguminous crops from 98% of area

Ukrainian farmers harvested 38.3 million tonnes of grain crops from an area of 9.8 million hectares, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has reported.

"As of August 14, farmers in all regions harvested 38.3 million tonnes of grain crops of the new harvest from an area of 9.8 million hectares, or 98% of the target," the report reads.

In particular, Ukrainian farmers threshed 28.1 million tonnes of wheat from an area of 6.7 million hectares (99%); 9.0 million tonnes of barley from 2.6 million hectares (99%); 310,000 tonnes of rye from 112,000 hectares (96%); 366,000 tonnes of oats from 147,000 hectares (81%); and 583,000 tonnes of peas from 257,000 hectares (100%).

Also, 3.1 million tonnes of winter rape were gathered from an area of 1.25 million hectares (99%).

Grain and leguminous crops were most threshed in Odesa region (3.1 million tonnes), Zaporizhzhia region (3.0 million tonnes), Kharkiv region (2.8 million tonnes), Dnipropetrovsk region (2.7 million tonnes), and Mykolaiv region (2.6 million tonnes).
