Ukraine pumps 7.2 bcm of gas to underground storage facilities for 7 months

In January-July 2019, Ukraine pumped 7.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas into its underground gas storage facilities, the press service of JSC Ukrtransgaz has reported.

"In January-July 2019, Ukraine accumulated 7.2 billion cubic meters of gas in its underground gas storage facilities, which is 33% more than during the same period in 2018. The extraction from underground gas storage facilities was 5.1 billion cubic meters of gas, a decrease of 29%," the report says.

At the same time, gas import grew by 36%. For seven months of 2019, Ukraine imported 7.6 billion cubic meters of gas.

As reported, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to accumulate about 20 billion cubic meters of gas to ensure the stable heating season of 2019-2020.
