Zelensky’s team preparing draft decision to reduce electricity prices

The team of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, together with the Government and the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities, is developing a draft resolution to reduce electricity prices for water utilities by 10%.
Presidential representative in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Andriy Gerus said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"This [the introduction of the electricity market] caused an increase in electricity prices [for water utilities] by 25%. It’s wrong to pass the buck to the end-user. We are developing a mechanism. We are negotiating with the regulator, the Energy Ministry, in order to reduce electricity prices by at least 10% of the level that existed at the beginning of the month. I think that a draft decision on this issue will be adopted in a week or two," he said.
