The team of the Ukrainian president and the Servant of the People party is preparing a package of bills on the demonopolization of the media market and also plans to replace members of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko has said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"We are now preparing a package of bills to demonopolize the media market. Our guys are working out some steps that can also be used in their interests so that they do not blame us later. [...] There is a bit different story in the media - monopolies cannot be tolerated. This should be a market," Tymoshenko said.

According to him, Zelensky's team wants to make so that TV channel owners could exert less influence on information policy, including by increasing the powers of regulators.

"We have many different information policy initiatives that we plan to implement through parliament. This also applies to regulators, increasing their capabilities. It's clear that members of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting will be replaced as there will be a new Verkhovna Rada and it has its own quota," Tymoshenko said.

In addition, according to him, Zelensky's team plans "to disclose all the beneficiaries [of TV channels]."
