Omelyan: Construction of new runway at Dnipropetrovsk airport may begin in 2020

Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has stated that the ministry will soon announce tenders for designing a new runway and its construction at the International Dnipropetrovsk Airport (Dnipro city).
In a post on his Facebook page, Omelyan wrote: "Soon we will announce a tender for designing a new runway in Dnipro. Then there will be an international tender for its construction. If there are no halts and obstacles, the winner of the tender will begin the work in spring 2020 and complete it in 2021”.
The minister also stressed that the new Verkhovna Rada should not forget to envisage for the Dnipropetrovsk airport at least UAH 1 billion in the 2020 state budget and UAH 2 billion for the year 2021.
As Ukrinform reported, acting Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Head Volodymyr Yurchenko stated that the reconstruction of the International Dnipropetrovsk Airport would last for two years.
