NBU decides to reduce discount rate to 17%

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has decided to reduce the discount rate to 17% per annum from July 19, NBU Governor Yakiv Smolii stated.

He said this at a press conference on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The Board of the National Bank of Ukraine decided to reduce the discount rate to 17% per annum from July 19, 2019," Smolii said.

According to him, the National Bank continues to ease monetary policy, as it sees a trend of slowing inflation to the 5% target.

As known, at the end of April, the Board of the National Bank decided to reduce the discount rate from 18% to 17.5% per annum.
