Over the two quarters of the year, the budgets of local self-government bodies have increased up to UAH 139 billion.

"Over the first two quarters of 2019, the local budgets have grown again and now total UAH 139 billion. This means that the budgets of local communities can reach the level of 290 billion by the end of this year," Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko said during the hour of questions to the Government at the Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the budget of local communities amounted to UAH 234 billion in 2018.

Hennadiy Zubko stressed that those and other changes at the local level had become possible thanks to the adoption of a number of laws by the Verkhovna Rada since 2015 and expressed hope that the Verkhovna Rada of the next convocation would be able to adopt the legislative acts necessary for the completion of the decentralization reform.
