Ukraine increases number of installed renewable energy facilities almost twofold

In January-June 2019, 1.55 million MW of renewable energy generating facilities were installed in Ukraine, which is almost twice as much as during the full year 2018.
The relevant report has been issued by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
"In the first half of 2019, Ukraine installed 1,550 MW of new power generating capacities from renewable energy sources, which is almost twice as much as in 2018 (848 MW)," reads the report.
In particular, almost 900 MW was put into operation in the first quarter and 650 MW more in the second quarter of the current year.
Almost 1.3 billion euros have been invested in the indicated 1,550 MW of renewable energy generating facilities.
