New electricity market to strengthen Ukraine’s security – Nasalyk
"Firstly, the energy market is aimed at consumer and provides the opportunity for every consumer to choose the supplier of electricity. Secondly, we fulfill our obligations to the energy community and create the opportunity to integrate into the European energy market, which will strengthen the energy security of our state," wrote Nasalyk.
According to him, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has developed the required legal and regulatory framework for the successful launch of the electricity market and the protection of all its participants, both suppliers and consumers.
"About 100 subordinate acts were developed to the law on the electricity market, one third of which was prepared by the Coal Industry Ministry’s experts. We have balanced the system in such a way that it will not lead to a rise in prices for the population, which, incidentally, has not been raised since March 2017,” Nasalik wrote.
At the same time, he stressed that with the introduction of a new model of the electricity market, the electricity price for the population should remain unchanged.
As reported, the new model of Ukraine´s electricity market was launched on July 1.
