Ukraine’s construction industry grows 26% in January-May 2019

In January-May 2019, the volume of construction works in Ukraine increased by 26.3% compared with the relevant period last year, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
In particular, the construction of engineering facilities in January-May 2019 rose by 40.6%, the construction of buildings - by 14.8%, as compared with the relevant period last year.
Also, the construction volume of non-residential buildings grew by 36.2%, while the volume of housing construction decreased by 2.3%.
The volume of new construction, reconstruction, and technical re-equipment made up 78.8% of the total volume of completed construction works, major and current repairs – 12.8% and 8.4%, respectively.
As Ukrinform reported, the volume of construction works performed in Ukraine in 2018 increased by 4.4% from the previous year.
