A Ukrainian delegation, which includes Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Yakiv Smolij, has left for Skopje, North Macedonia, to attend the annual Constituency Meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the NBU press service has reported.

The report notes that the meeting will be held on June 21-23. As part of the event, meetings are due to be held between the NBU head and representatives of the IMF and the World Bank.

During this year's meeting, the IMF will discuss the protection of free competition, the fight against tax evasion and banking supervision.

An IMF mission arrived in Ukraine in late May 2019. It stayed in the country during May 21-29 and met with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, in particular, President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the State Tax Service.

The IMF plans to resume cooperation with Ukraine after a new government is formed and parliamentary elections are held. At the same time, the IMF may decide to allocate a new loan tranche of $1.3 billion.
