Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman suggests halving the number of regional and district state administrations from January 1, 2020.
He made a corresponding statement at the 15th Ukrainian Municipal Forum, the Government portal reports.
"I know this is a long-awaited decision. It will allow the districts with full-fledged communities to live up to new standards and be managed by people well-known at the local level," Groysman said.
According to the Prime Minister, it is also important that district centers and cities of regional significance receive the status of united territorial communities until January 1, 2021.
