The mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) began its work in Ukraine on May 21.

"The IMF experts began to work in Ukraine," the IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine told Ukrinform.

As known, the IMF mission will work in Ukraine for two weeks. During this period, the Fund’s representatives plan to hold a series of meetings with Ukrainian officials.

According to the results of the work, the Mission will decide on the readiness of Ukraine to receive a new tranche worth USD 1.3 billion.

As reported, on December 18, 2019, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund approved a 14-month Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Ukraine worth a total of USD 3.9 billion in three tranches. On December 21, 2018, Ukraine received the first tranche. The second and the third tranches, USD 1.3 billion each, are planned to be disbursed in May and November 2019.
