Ukraine’s Government already making steps in response to ban on oil exports from Russia

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has stated that the Russian Federation’s ban on the export of oil and petroleum products to Ukraine is part of the economic war, and the Government is taking certain steps to minimize the negative impact of this ban.

“As for petroleum products, Russia continues its economic war against Ukraine... We expected such a scenario and now we are taking certain steps to minimize the negative impact of these developments,” Groysman told journalists at a briefing in Kyiv region where he inspects the road repair works, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Ukraine is increasingly moving away from any relationship with Russia, he added.

“Even if we are talking about petroleum products, we have the whole world where we can buy quality products,” Groysman noted.

As reported, the Russian Federation banned the export of oil and petroleum products to Ukraine last week. A few days ago, the Belarusian Oil Company temporarily restricted the export of petroleum products due to the deterioration of oil quality.
