European integration gives Ukrainian goods a chance to become a full-fledged participant in the market of the European Union and other world markets.

“For many years, the Ukrainian economy was focused only on one market: the market of the Russian Federation. European integration gives Ukrainian goods a chance to receive a quality status, which will allow them to become a full-fledged participant in the EU market and will pave the way to other world markets,” Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said during a working visit to Zaporizhzhia, where she took part in the regional conference “European Integration: Power of Opportunities,” an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to her, Zaporizhzhia region increased the exports to the EU countries by 3.8% last year. Moreover, the EU countries, in particular, the Netherlands, Estonia, Slovakia, Sweden and Cyprus, are the leading investors in Zaporizhzhia region.

“The total volume of foreign direct investment in the region totalled more than $900 million, including almost $700 million from the countries of the European Union (77.3%),” Klympush-Tsintsadze said.

It was noted during the conference that the industrial production index of the region exceeded 103% last year. The positive dynamics was demonstrated by the majority of industries, in particular, textile production, production of clothing and leather products.
