Over half a million Ukrainian families took advantage of ‘warm loans’ program – Serhiy Savchuk

Since the launch of the government’s energy efficiency program in 2014, about 525 thousand Ukrainian families have taken advantage of loans issued on energy saving measures.
Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhiy Savchuk stated this at a press conference “Warm loans – 2019: How to make housing energy efficient and save on utility services,” an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“As to the number of families in 2018, then 150,000 families took advantage of ‘warm loans.’ As to the program in general in the period from 2014 to 2018, it numbers 525,000 families," said Savchuk.
He noted that UAH 8 million was attracted on energy saving measures over the first week of the energy saving loans’ program in 2019.
Among the leaders in issuing loans on energy saving measures are Kyiv, Lviv and Sumy regions. To finance the "warm loans" program in 2019, UAH 400 million has been allocated.
