State Statistics Service reports on 11.7% rise in wage arrears in 2018

As of January 1, 2019, wage arrears in Ukraine amounted to UAH 2.645 million, which is 11.7% higher than a year ago, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Among the leaders in terms of wage arrears were Luhansk region (UAH 505.9 million, or 9.2% less than as of January 1, 2018), Donetsk region (UAH 467.3 million, 3% higher) and Sumy region (UAH 275.3 million, 132.9% higher).

The lowest salary debts as of January 1, 2019 were recorded in Chernivtsi region (UAH 0.1 million, 18 times less), Zakarpattia region (UAH 3.2 million, 33.3% higher) and Zhytomyr region (UAH 6.3 million, 18.9% higher).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, wage arrears in Ukraine as of January 1, 2018 totaled UAH 2,368.4 million, which was 32.2% higher than as of January 1, 2017.
