Ukraine's industrial production shrinks by 2.9% in Jan
According to the seasonally adjusted index of the state statistics agency, industrial output in January 2019 shrank by 0.5% compared to December 2018.
According to unadjusted indices, the drop in industrial production last month was 3.3% against January 2018 and 13.8% against December 2018.
The mining industry and the development of quarries demonstrated a 1% drop in January 2019 compared to January 2018 (1.6% according to the unadjusted index) and a 1.2% drop compared to December 2018 (4.3% according to the unadjusted index).
This year's January figures of the processing industry are 4.8% lower than a year earlier (5.5% according to the unadjusted index), however, they are 0.9% higher than in December 2018 (20.5% lower according to the unadjusted index).
Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply in January 2019 grew by 0.3% compared to the same month in 2018 (by 1.3% according to the unadjusted index), and compared to December 2018, it dropped by 3.3% (by 2.9% according to the unadjusted index).
According to the State Statistics Service, industrial production in Ukraine in 2018 grew by 1.6% compared with 2017.
