In 2018, Ukrainian poultry meat exports hit a record high of 329,000 tonnes, having increased by 21% compared to the previous year.

The press service of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics" (IAE) released the corresponding statement.

"Last year, Ukrainian poultry meat exports hit the record high of 329,000 tonnes. In 2018, due to continued extensive geographical diversification and consolidation in new markets after leaving the Russian market, there was a positive tendency towards an increase in the volume of meat and offal exports. Last year, the exports of meat products increased by 21.6% compared to 2017 and totaled $646 million," IAE deputy director Mykola Puhachov said.

According to him, in 2018, most domestic meat products were exported to the countries of the European Union, the Middle East, and the CIS. The Netherlands (17.9%), Slovakia (9.3%), Saudi Arabia (9.0%), Belarus (8.4%), Iraq (7.0%), Azerbaijan (6.1%) and Germany (5.0 %) were the top importers.
