The International Monetary Fund (IMF) advises Ukraine to focus on land reform and privatization as these are quite promising sectors in terms of investment inflows, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Goesta Ljungman has said.
He said this at the 15th Annual Ukraine Investor Conference organized by Dragon Capital in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
What should be done is to focus on land reform in order to buy farmland and on the privatization of the sector of state-owned enterprises so that the private sector could enter and contribute to this sector, Ljungman said.
He also stressed that the reform of the State Fiscal Service was now due to begin, which in turn should improve the business environment.
Ljungman also recalled that much had been done in various areas over the past five years, from the reform of the banking system to the creation of anti-corruption agencies.
