The Government of Ukraine has decided to set the gas consumption rate at 3.29 cubic meters per person per month for households without a gas meter, the Government portal has reported.

“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within the framework of updating fair gas consumption rates for the population of Ukraine has decided to set the norm at 3.29 cubic meters of gas per person per month for households without a gas meter,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said during a Government sitting on Wednesday, January 30.

The prime minister recalled that the rate of gas consumption at 3.3 cubic meters was set in 2016. However, this rate was overturned by the court decision and the old, enlarged and unfair consumption standards entered into force.

"We see indignation of people because of excessive gas rates. This happened due to the court’s decision to reverse the Government’s decree. We will defend our stance, but we need a new decision. We set the new norm at 3.29 cubic meters and it will be approved. People will pay a fair price for a fair not overrated amount," Groysman stressed.
