Ukraine ranks fourth in the world in NFC payments

Ukraine has the fourth highest share of contactless payments on total card transactions in the world.
"Ukraine has the fourth highest share of contactless payments in the world for the fourth quarter of 2018," CEO of Mastercard Europe SA Inga Andreieva announced.
Inga Andreeva stressed that such statistics testified to the demand for the latest payment technologies and the ability of Ukrainians to learn quickly.
At the same time, she noted that only 38% of small and medium-sized businesses accepted cashless payments in Ukraine.
"In Europe, on the whole, this share exceeds 60%," Andreieva noted.
NFC payments are contactless payments that use near-field communication (NFC) technologies.
