Trilateral talks on gas transit to be held as scheduled – EC spokesperson

Trilateral talks on gas transit with the participation of European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak will be held as scheduled on January 21, so the absence of Gazprom's delegation in Brussels for technical consultations on this topic has not affected preparations for the meeting.

European Commission spokesperson Anca Paduraru said this on Wednesday, January 16, while answering questions from an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Yes, the meeting is indeed scheduled for the 21st [of January], next Monday. It will be followed by a press corner by Vice-President Sefcovic at around 5 o'clock in the afternoon. The topic is gas transit. As far as we known, everyone will be present at the meeting," she said.
